Moscow Art Theatre School – American Studio Summer Intensive
Sarah Tam graduated from Butler University in 2017 with a BA in Theatre. She loves telling stories in many forms, from acting to writing to fight choreography. While at Butler, Sarah focused her studies on performance, taking classes in the Stanislavski acting method, Linklater voice, and more. Sarah also studied abroad twice, taking a semester to study Theatre and English in Ireland at University College Dublin and a summer at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia. Sarah’s time at Butler culminated in an honors thesis written on the emotional impact of stage combat.
She discovered her passion for stage combat in high school and has trained in many different weapons since then, including broadsword, unarmed, sword and shield, smallsword, and rapier and dagger. Sarah has recently starting choreographing fights for local shows, including Romeo and Juliet at Indy Bardfest and Paper Swords at Indy Fringe this past year. When she’s not working on new shows, Sarah writes short stories and works on too many novels at once. She’s very grateful for the opportunity to create shows with Character House and bring an exciting new form of theatre to Indianapolis.
