About Jeff

Jeffrey Bird, Jr. is a 2018 graduate of Butler University with a BA in Theatre and History. He is currently earning his MA in US History at IUPUI. Jeffrey spent his four years at Butler training extensively in the Stanislavski method of acting with Elaina Artemiev as well as from Visiting International Theatre Artist Marina Brusnikina, the associate artistic director of the Moscow Art Theatre.

In addition to his training at Butler, Jeffrey spent 6 weeks studying at the Moscow Art Theatre School taking classes in acting, movement, theatre history, singing, stage combat, and more. During his time at Butler, Jeffrey also had the opportunity to work with Visiting International Theatre Artist Michael Williams of Cape Town, South Africa in the world premiere of The Water Carriers.

He closed out his undergraduate career performing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by local actor Constance Macy. In addition to his work as an actor, Jeffrey is also a professional tap dancer and serves as the Pre-Professional Company Director for the Circle City Tap Company. He has performed in and choreographed for shows around the nation. Most recently, he was a main character in “TAPspeak” in Detroit, Michigan presented by Tap24.7. Jeffrey is extremely excited to be a part of this company and hopes that Russian Avant-Garde theatre quickly explodes in the Indy community!
