Butler University, B.A. Theatre, cum laude
Moscow Art Theatre School – American Studio Summer Intensive
Director, Designer, Deviser.
I’m a Theatre Artist based out of Indianapolis, with a B.A. in Theatre from Butler University Cum Laude. While at Butler, I studied and trained as a director and theatre artist with a specific focus in modern avant-garde theatre, and was able to experiment with form, devising, and deconstruction through a series of productions. These explorations, and my work as a whole, are largely based in the experimental, immersive, and evocative forms I experienced over a semester studying drama in London under Marina Calderone (author of Actions: The Actor’s Thesaurus), followed by a summer intensive at the legendary Moscow Art Theatre School. These educational experiences combined with a 2 month furlough in Berlin, Germany changed my life forever and contribute directly to my process and product of working.
I’ve also had the good fortune to work with some of the best directors and designers in Indianapolis, as an assistant director to Robert Neal on The Winter’s Tale (HART Theatre), Constance Macy on A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Butler University Theatre), Elaina Artemiev on the new adaptation Stories from Dark Alleys (Butler University Theatre) and Bryan Fonseca and Bill Simmons the world premiers of Halftime with Don by Ken Weitzman (Phoenix Theatre, dir. Fonseca) and The Pill by Tom Horan (Phoenix Theatre, dir. Simmons).
